Silent Sigh
Haven’t been doing much today…other than watching Lost season 2 episode 24…and About A Boy on the dvd. Can’t remember when I bought the dvd but I sure enjoyed watching it again. The novel by British writer Nick Hornby of the same name was inspired by Nirvana’s song, About A Girl. I have not read About A Boy…but I’ve read one of his other books…High Fidelity.
The movie was interesting in a sort of way where the 2 main character’s thoughts were narrated…using of double voice-over naration. Like when I’m having a conversion with you…I said something but actually my thoughts was different from what I’ve said…and you on the other hand said something different from what your were thinking. This is so true in real life. Wouldn’t it be great if everyone just speaks their mind all the time? It will definitely be a disaster I kid you not.

The movie soundtrack was done by Badly Drawn Boy (singer songwriter Damon Gough) which was as brilliant. Sometimes instrumental sometimes lyrical…the combination’s a bomb. Nick Hornby list A Minor Incident as one of the many tracks that change his life but for me it has got to be Silent Sigh…not that the song change my life or anything…but my favourite song from the soundtrack.

I bought Nick Hornby's "About A Boy" a week before the movie was shown because I was impressed by the novel's cover - FINALLY Hugh Grant got rid of his weird hairstyle, a collector item haha! Honestly, forget "About A Boy" if you haven't bought the book. The storyline is too wishy-washy, definitely not inviting page turn. Nick's "How To Be Good" is a better read.
