Insanity

Watching Concave Scream perform reminds me of another band that emerges at about the same time as Concave Scream…in the early 90s. Insanity started playing Metallica covers in their early years. Slowly… exposed to other genre of rock…they played songs by the likes of Sick Of It All…Slapshot…Youth Of Today. Then came the Seattle grunge revolutions…Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana were added to their jamming list. They have wrote and jam their own materials in the later years and recorded their 3 songs EP nearing the end…but the EP was never to be released and the tape was never to be found. The 4 piece band was a tight unit but siting differences in the direction where the band should be heading…they finally call it quit in the late 90s.

Back to Concave Scream…the hard hitting of the snare with the double paddle…the groove of the bass and the crying of the guitar…these are the ingredients of a tight unit…also the vocals is as good as any other well known international act around. With these ingredients…it all depends on how the band blends the individual quality into their music style and the songs they were playing. Concave Scream has come a long way…that is what made them the band they are today. Congratulations to them cause the relaunch performance at HMV was great and I wish them the best of luck…keep up the good work of promoting the local music scene…for you guys and many others have continued to persevere while Insanity disappear into obscurity.
